Inspections

Depending on the type of building permit you are applying for, you may need to schedule one or more inspections with the Town of Blind River. These inspections ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code, your permit and approved plans.

The necessary inspections for your project are listed on the pink mandatory inspections sheet provided with your permit. It is your responsibility to schedule inspections in the correct order listed, following the stages of construction. Please review the stages of inspections with your contractor and keep records of each inspection.

Please include the address, permit number and inspection type needed when booking your inspection. We will contact you in advance to provide a window of time when the inspector will arrive.

If your inspection passes, the inspector will notify you on site or we will contact you with the inspection notes.

Re-inspections

If your inspection does not pass, you will need to book a re-inspection. A re-inspection fee of $207 may apply if you have not met the requested inspection requirements and the inspector must return to re-inspect the same item or items.
