A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this year's ParticipACTION Community Challenge! Your energy, enthusiasm, and commitment to getting active made 2025 another incredible year. 

We're already looking forward to 2026, and this is the place to be! This page will be the hub for all things related to next year's challenge, including registration details, community updates, and ways to get involved. 

Until then, keep moving, keep motivated, and thank you for helping make our community healthier and stronger, one step at a time.

We Congratulate Canada’s Most active Community!

After more than 600 communities participated in the 2025 Community Challenge, we’re excited to congratulate  Richmond, BC on earning the title of Canada’s Most Active Community in 2025! 

They won the $100,000 grand prize to support local physical activity and sport initiatives.

We would also like to congratulate the most active community in each province and territory!

The ParticipAction Community Challenge recognized the outstanding efforts of these communities to engage their residents in physical activity and sport, and were awarded cash prizes of between $7,500 and $15,000:  

  • Red Deer, AB (prizing supported by the Government of Alberta)

  • Pinawa, MB 

  • Grand-Bouctouche, NB (prizing supported by the Government of New Brunswick) 

  • Clarenville, NL (prizing supported by the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador) 

  • Cape Breton and Truro, NS (tie; prizing supported by the Province of Nova Scotia)

  • Hay River, NT (prizing supported by the Government of Northwest Territories) 

  • Iqaluit, NU (prizing supported by the Government of Nunavut) 

  • Cochrane, ON 

  • Miltonvale Park, PE (prizing supported by the Government of Prince Edward Island) 

  • Québec City, QC 

  • Ituna, SK (prizing supported by the Government of Saskatchewan) 

  • Faro, YT
