Roads

The Town of Blind River is committed to maintaining safe roads and sidewalks in our community. We provide snow and ice removal, road maintenance and repair, street sweeping and more.

Are you planning work within the public roadway?

The Town has a by-law which regulates road work, road cuts and work impacting the buried infrastructure within the Blind River owned road allowances and other properties under the jurisdiction of the Town.

This by-law can be accessed here: 24-45 Regulate Road Work.

If you are planning work which will result in a road closure or excavation of within the right of way of Blind River’s transportation system you will need to complete a Road Cut/Occupation Permit

Submitting this form is a requirement for any person or contractor planning to dig, cut, or occupy a municipal road allowance.

Completing a Road Cut/Occupation Permit form is important because it helps the Town of Blind River protect public infrastructure and ensure the safety of our roads for all users. This permit allows the Town to:

  • Coordinate work to minimize traffic disruptions
  • Ensure proper restoration of roads, sidewalks, and underground utilities
  • Protect municipal assets from damage and premature wear
  • Maintain accurate records of work done on public property
