Accessibility Committee

The 2011/12 Accessibility Plan is created in accordance with the Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2001 (ODA) and the Accessibility with Disabilities Act, 2005 (AODA). The plan describes the commitments to improve increasing accessibility as prescribed in the Acts. Input to date has been provided by Town staff, Council and members of the community. An Accessibility Advisory Committee is currently being put in place and all documentation has and will continue to be approved by Council.

Projects & Accomplishments

  • Automatic doors at the Community Centre and Arena.
  • Audible pedestrian crossing signals.
  • Investigation of purchasing accessible picnic tables for use at various events.
  • All town events are equipped with accessible portable washrooms.
  • Additional accessible parking on the Main Street and at the Post Office
